Albany On

Well all is organised and we are off to Albany this weekend for the annual Classic Distance Triathlon 1.5k Swim/40k Bike/10k Run. I am looking forward to racing and trying to get some hard kilometres into the legs, especially on the bike.

More importantly, Sebastian is excited to be staying on a farm with heaps of animals to check out.

All the best for the long weekend

UPDATE.....

Greetings all

The body recovered very quickly from a hit out last weekend and has absorbed a great week of training and as such we are considering heading to Albany next weekend for the Classic Distance event. I am hopeful we can organise everything and Lianne, Seb and I can get away for the long weekend.

The following week is the BRW Corporate Tri and am I really excited to be racing with Jason Nuttman and Brynt McSwain in the event for the BROAD team www.broad.com.au . These two guys are racing at the National LD Tri Champs this weekend and fingers crossed they will qualify for the World Champs in Perth later this year.

It is exciting to feel very fit and absorbing training well. I am confident this season I will be at my strongest ever condition and have a range of options to attack races.

Finally, the International Duathlon of Gernika have launched their website http://www.duatlongernika.com/ the club organising the event, Udraitri, will be hosting us for 8 weeks in Spain and I cannot wait to get amongst it and try to produce some special results for the club.

Day at the Beach triathlon

Today I did my first Triathlon in two years and second in 9 years...It has been a long time between drinks of ocean water!. The "Day at the Beach" was a low key event at the beautiful Leighton Beach and it was great to see the field at capacity on a tight and technical course of 3*(200m swim/ 8k bike/2k run).

I was happy with my form and the running is coming back, it has taken a while but last Thursday I had a training session which indicated that things are back at a high level and today re-inforced that. Training is very intensive at the moment and I am happy with the progress.

Thanks to all the organisers and hard working officials and of course my major sponsors at Asics, Cyclemania, Broad, Shotz Nutrition, Ryders Eyewear, Dukk Consulting . The results should be up shortly at www.allbarnone.com

Cheers

Sayonara Seated Hill Reps

Finally the 8 week Strength Endurance Block of seated Hill Reps on the bike is finished and now it is time to try and convert the strength to power. I am really looking forward to the change in training and getting more use from the Tri-bars and flatter roads.

The running is coming back to speed slowly and steadily. I am getting plenty of training done and the hill work and steady state running to build the legs back up will hopefully lay the foundation for the successses of 2009.

In other news a new West Australian website www.thisismytribe.com has been started and looks set to became a great source of info for the local endurance sport community. Check it out if you get a chance.

Hope everyone is training well and feeling good
